The origin of Dong Ding Oolong:
Dongding Mountain is near Deer Valley in Taiwan. It often had fog in the early times, the road is muddy and the slope is relatively steep, the toe must be “frozen” (in Chinese called “dong”) together when climbing the hill to avoid sliding down. The summit is called Dongding, and the foot of the hill is called Dongjiao, thus the tea in the mountain is called Dongding Oolong.

Dongding Oolong is lightly fermented, best known in Taiwan and honored as the “Holy tea product”. It is from Dongding tea garden of the high altitude. Its annual production is limited, so it is especially precious. Dongding tea has a long history. Taiwan History wrote that Taiwan has a long history of producing tea. The old annals claimed that Shueishalian (now Puli in Nantou County, Sun Moon Lake, Shuili, Chushan,etc.) produced tea. The color is like sunglo, and it can also avoid malaria and hotness. So far, the tea coming from these five cities is sold in the market, Yet Dongding oolong is the best. However the yield is very small.
How to taste Oolong tea:
Water temperature: Above 90°C. Tea sets: the purple sand teapot.
Amount of tea: Dongding Oolong is generally1/4 of the teapot.
The liquid of Oolong tea is yellow green and bright with sweet and mellow taste. It obviously has an artificial roasted flavor and the tea of a long history has the aroma of ripe fruit.
