The origin of the Phoenix Dancong Oolong Tea
Long, long time ago, there was a Golden Phoenix under the Mountain of Chao’an County in Guangdong Province who laid two eggs, then the two eggs were hatched into two young phoenixes. These two were super birds. They trained themselves in the mountains and do good things for people.
Where there is a disaster, these two phoenixes will appear. Once the two phoenixes appeared, people could live in peace. The villagers loved them very much and named the mountain as “Phoenix Mountain”, thus the tea produced here is called “Phoenix Dancong”.
Phoenix Dancong Mi Lan Xiang&Ya Shi Xiang
Phoenix Dancong is mainly divided into Mi Lan Xiang and Ya Shi Xiang. Mi Lan Xiang’s aroma leans toward “orchid + honey” or a floral‑honey character: the scent is elegant, sweet and delicate, with good returning sweetness and a long-lasting fragrance. The liquor is usually sweet and smooth, easy to drink, with a soft, rounded mouthfeel. Ya Shi Xiang, by contrast, has a more intense, penetrating aroma, showing fruit and floral notes often accompanied by a distinctive wild or slightly animalic character; its fragrance is bold and persistent. The liquor tends to be fuller-bodied and more powerful, with strong, long-lasting aftertaste and aroma, and generally better durability over multiple infusions.
